The Trotamar III has left Lampedusa and is now sailing south.

It’s very hot, and the sea is as flat as a mirror. Our crew is on the lookout for boats in distress, which are setting out more frequently in these calm weather conditions. Meanwhile, the crew members are trying to protect themselves from the heat and have hung a sunshade over the cockpit.

Currently, the Trotamar III is the only ship in the Civil Fleet operating in the search and rescue zones of the central Mediterranean. We receive air support from Sea-Watch’s Seabird 1 aircraft, which scans our route for people in distress.
