The Trotamar III is anchored off Linosa, where the crew continues to prepare the upcoming deployment. With the dinghy, crew members practise making contact with a migrant vessel, distributing life jackets and rescuing unconscious people.
On board the Trotamar III is an extensive range of rescue equipment with which the crew can come to the aid of people in unseaworthy boats. In addition to 200 life jackets for adults and children, there are also seven life rafts and two centifloats, long rescue hoses that people can hold on to in the water.
UPDATE November 1.:
Today, the Trotamar III sailed from Linosa to Lampedusa and anchored there. As soon as the weather improves, the crew will head south out onto the Central Mediterranean Sea to support people in distress at sea.
