Before we set sail, there is a lot to practice — especially with the dinghy.
How do we approach a boat in distress? How do we rescue a person from the water? And how do we communicate efficiently via radio between the dinghy and the Trotamar III?
We practice all these things in the harbour basin of Licata first, in calm conditions, before the crew completes offshore training. And only when this training runs smoothly are we ready to sail out onto the central Mediterranean Sea and come to the aid of people on the move.
