Thanks to your support, we were able to install a new engine during this year’s shipyard. We weren’t sure whether we could really rely on the old engine in the future, so we replaced it. Now the new engine is finally in the boat and we got to try it out yesterday in beautiful sunshine. The first engine test shows that we are faster than before and there is a huge improvement in gear shifting compared to the old engine. This gives us a good feeling for the upcoming deployment. Because even though we have a sailboat, we need to be able to act quickly in emergencies, and for that we need a powerful engine.

While the Trotamar III is still being prepared in some areas, the crew is training for the deployment. We have to know the procedures inside out, and every move has to be practiced.
