Sailing home
The crew of the TROTAMAR III left Lampedusa today and set course for its home port of Licata in Sicily. Behind us lies an upsetting deployment in which we were able to save many people, but unfortunately three people also died. Every life lost on the run is one too many. We are sailing against Fortress Europe – for freedom of movement for all people. We demand safe escape routes instead of walls and borders.
We will be back in a few weeks to continue supporting civilian sea rescues in the Mediterranean. We would like to thank everyone involved for their support and our thoughts are with those who were unable to make it to Europe but lost their lives at sea.
Our deploymenets are financed by donations. Make the next deployment of the TROTAMAR III possible with your donation. – https://compass-collective.org/en/start/#donate
