15 days of detention – We’re taking legal action
On 25 August, our sailing vessel was detained by the Italian authorities. Now we know what this means precisely: 15 days of detention and a €7,500 fine.
But we will not pay this fine. We will go to court and prove that the accusations made by Italian authorities are unjustified and violate human rights.
We want to set a precedent and stop the detention of civil sea rescue vessels. We remain consistent in our demands:
– No communication with Libyan authorities on distress cases!
– Libya is not a place of safety for refugees!
– Stop EU funding of the so-called Libyan coast guard!
– Stop the Detention of the Civil Fleet!
– Free Trotamar III!
We need your support to fight in court: www.startnext.com/freetrotamar3
