Our sailing ship Trotamar III is free again! After around two weeks, the Court in Agrigento has lifted the detention order.
After our sailing boat was detained in Lampedusa on August 25, our lawyers lodged an appeal against the €7,500 fine and the detention order. With success! Today we were notified that the court in Agrigento (Sicily) has ruled the detention unlawful. As a result, the detention has been lifted with immediate effect and the fine has been suspended.
As this is an fast-track decision, the proceedings will continue until the court reaches a final decision. Nevertheless, the lifting of the detention is a success for us, which was only possible with your support. We continue to rely on your donations so that we can continue paying the lawyers.
