On Saturday evening, we came across a boat in distress in the dark and took 16 people on board, including many minors.

On board the Trotamar III, everyone was provided with rescue blankets, warm tea, and food. We immediately set course for Lampedusa –the nearest European port, but still a good day’s journey away.

This evening, we arrived in Lampedusa in calm seas. All 16 people got through the journey well, despite some seasickness, and were able to go ashore safely.
