Trainings in Licata

Training, training, training: In Licata, our crew is busy preparing for the upcoming deployment. This includes dinghy training in the harbour basin of our home port Licata, but also offshore training, for which we unfortunately have a lot of time right now.
This is because the winter weather in the Mediterranean is showing its unpredictable side: strong winds and high waves are currently delaying our departure to the area south of Lampedusa.
We are using this time to complete training off the coast of Licata. This is because a maneuver that works well in the calm harbour basin is much more difficult in the rocky waves out on the sea.
Unfortunately, we know that even in these weather conditions, people are setting out to flee across the Mediterranean Sea. That’s why we want to sail to Lampedusa as soon as possible to help people in distress at sea.
