Our sailing boat TROTAMAR III is used for three-week observation deployments, during which we document human rights violations, keep an eye out for maritime emergencies and assist in rescue missions by larger (rescue) ships. Sailing back to Licata

Trainings
Over the past few days, we’ve completed our final training near Lampedusa. During these exercises, we practiced the so-called “person overboard maneuver”— the scenario where a person falls overboard. In nautical terminology, this exercise is actually called the “man overboard maneuver,” but it’s important to us to be as inclusive as possible in our language.

Setting sail!
After a long period of preparation and final shipyard work, we were able to leave Licata, Sicily, today.
