Our sailing boat TROTAMAR III is used for three-week observation deployments, during which we document human rights violations, keep an eye out for maritime emergencies and assist in rescue missions by larger (rescue) ships. In an emergency, we rescue.

Solidarity against Detention
We don’t even know the details of our detention yet. How long is it supposed to last? How much is the fine we’re supposed to pay? One thing is already certain: we’re filing an appeal! Our lawyers are already on the case, and our Crew is working to draw attention to this injustice in Lampedusa.

Detention
The Trotamar III is being prohibited from leaving the port of Lampedusa. We demand its immediate release! After rescuing 18 people, whom we brought ashore on the Italian island on Wednesday, the authorities informed us that the Trotamar III has been detained. They are saying that our crew failed to communicate with the Tunisian coast

This morning, all 18 people were able to disembark in Lampedusa! After taking a big step onto the high ferry pier, they finally have European soil beneath their feet.
