The Wendland sends a Ship!
CompassCollective activists support the rescue of refugees in the Mediterranean. Our sailing boat TROTAMAR III is used for three-week observation deployments, during which we document human rights violations, keep an eye out for maritime emergencies and assist in rescue missions by larger (rescue) ships. In an emergency, we rescue.

Test drive with the new engine
Thanks to your support, we were able to install a new engine during this year’s shipyard. We weren’t sure whether we could really rely on the old engine in the future, so we replaced it. Now the new engine is finally in the boat and we got to try it out yesterday in beautiful sunshine.

Our new crew is ready to go!
After spending the last weeks getting the Trotamar III ready for the new year, we are now starting our first deployment of 2026. Lynn, Matz, Jan, Paul, Matthias, and our skipper Ina are part of this deployment. Over the next few weeks, the six of them will be supporting civil sea rescue in the mediterranean

Back in Licata
The last week was long and a bit nerve-wracking for our crew. Several times we were searching for distress cases whose GPS coordinates we were able to pick up via radio. But even with the coordinates of a boat’s last known position, it can be very difficult to actually find the boat in distress on
